When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. If you use Gravatar, an anonymized string from your email address may be shared with them to see if you’re using their service. Once approved, your profile picture will be visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images, please avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Cookies
When you leave a comment, you can opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year. If you log in, we set cookies to save your login info and screen preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen preferences last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logout removes these cookies. We also save a cookie with no personal data when you edit or publish an article.
